Who should not have microblading?

  1. Pregnancy or Nursing: Hormonal changes can affect skin healing and pigment retention, and there is a potential risk of infection.
  2. Diabetes: Poor blood circulation and slow healing can lead to complications (you will need a doctor’s note if you want to go ahead)
  3. Autoimmune Diseases: Conditions like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis can impair healing and increase the risk of infection.
  4. Blood Disorders: Hemophilia or other bleeding disorders can cause excessive bleeding during the procedure.
  5. Keloid Scarring: Individuals prone to keloids may develop raised, thick scars from the microblading process.
  6. Allergies: Sensitivity or allergic reactions to pigments, anesthetics, or other substances used during microblading.
  7. Skin Conditions: Active eczema, psoriasis, or rosacea in the eyebrow area can worsen with the procedure.
  8. Active Acne or Infection: Presence of acne or infections in the treatment area can lead to further complications.
  9. Recent Botox or Fillers: Microblading too soon after these treatments can interfere with the placement and settling of the substances.
  10. Chemotherapy/Radiation: Compromised immune system and poor healing during and shortly after cancer treatments.
  11. Severe Cardiovascular Conditions: Conditions like heart disease can pose risks due to stress and potential infections.
  12. Accutane or Other Retinoids: Use within the last 6 months can make the skin too sensitive and prone to damage.
  13. Skin treatments: Treatments that make the skin renew itself such as acid peels, microneedling etc should be avoided for at least 4 weeks before treatment.
  14. Sunburn or Suntanned Skin: Recently sunburned or tanned skin is more sensitive and can react adversely to microblading.
  15. History of Epilepsy: Risk of triggering seizures due to the stress and discomfort of the procedure.
  16. Anticoagulant Medication: Blood-thinning medications can cause excessive bleeding and affect pigment retention.

It is crucial for clients to consult with their healthcare provider before undergoing microblading if they have any medical conditions or are taking any medications that might affect the procedure or healing process.
